Sallie Fay Hicks Huff

Mrs. Sallie Fay Hicks Huff, age 87 of Villa Rica passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Huff was born May 29, 1921 in Paulding County, the oldest daughter of Emmett and Beth Roberts Hicks. On April 5, 1941 she married Melvin Audell Huff. Shortly after there marriage Audell was drafted into the Army and served admirably for 4 years. While Audell served his country Sallie Fay took a job in the Villa Rica Hosiery Mill for several years only to become a loving wife, mother and homemaker after the war. Sallie Fay and Audell enjoyed 60 years of marriage until his death on March 25, 2002. Sallie Fay was a devoted member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, sisters and host of nieces and nephews. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Derrell and Laney Huff, Kennesaw, grandchildren, Vince and Stace Huff, Hiram, Lindsey and Greg Hartsfield, Buford, Laura Huff, Kennesaw, Patrick Broome, Panama City, FL, and Trey Crews, FL, great grandchildren, Cooper Hartsfield and Pearson Hartsfield, Buford, and Alec Huff, Hiram, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ila Mae Hicks Gunnell, Dallas, Irma Ree Hicks Carnes, Villa Rica, Minnie Lee Hicks Brown, Villa Rica, Willie Tee Hicks Busbin and Edwin Busbin, Villa Rica, Lyndal Hicks Rainwater, Villa Rica, Reba Hicks Agan and Ed Agan, Villa Rica, Maxine Hicks, Atlanta, brother and sister James and Evelyn Hicks, Buchanan. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Beth Huff, infant brother, George Hicks, brother Guy Hicks, and sister Lillie Be Hicks Ingram. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 3 oâ€™clock from Freedom King Mission Church (former location of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church) with Rev. Charles Williams, Mr. Chad Williams officiating. Music will be provided by Drew Williams and Jimmy Pearson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 P.M. Interment will follow the service in Melrose Hills Cemetery with Roger Brown, Perry Hicks, Mark Ingram, Lanny Ray Watkins, J. Collins, Chris Agan, and Jamey Coley serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers include Ralph Moore, Edwin Busbin and James Wix
