Willie Tee Busbin

Mrs. Willie Tee Hicks Busbin, age 74 of 1064 Dallas Hwy. Villa Rica, passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 at Crawford Long Hospital. Willie Tee was born to late Bethany Roberts Hicks and Emmett Gordon Hicks on August 4, 1935 in the New Georgia Community in Paulding County. She grew up in a loving family with eight siblings and many close relatives and neighbors. She married J. Edwin Busbin on May 10, 1952, and lived in the Fullerville Community for several years. Tee attended cosmetology school in the early fifties and later opened Brendaâ€™s Beauty Shop which she operated for several years. On June 16, 1955 they were blessed with a beautiful red haired daughter, Brenda Jane Busbin. In 1965 Tee and Edwin opened J.E. Busbin Funeral Home and Ambulance Service where she worked along side Edwin until 1970. In 1971 Tee and Edwin went into the Dry Cleaning Business where she managed Villa Rica Cleaners on Wilson Street in Villa Rica . After the cleaners Tee and her daughter Brenda Busbin Collins opened yet another business, Busbinâ€™s Flower Shop in 1974. They worked together to design beautiful flower arrangements and made a host of friends throughout the 20 plus years of service. In 1996 Tee decided to retire and sold the business. Her retirement would not last very long. In July of 2002 her grandson, following in the footsteps of his entrpreneurial grandparents, founded J. Collins Funeral Home. Tee played a very important role at the funeral home, answering the phone, greeting families and caring for everyone with whom she came into contact with. She always welcomed everyone with a warm smile and kind, caring words. Tee is survived by her husband of 57 years J. Edwin Busbin, her beloved grandson J. Collins, Villa Rica, her son-in-law Doyle Collins and wife Virginia, Heflin, AL, sisters Irma Ree Carnes, Minnie Lee Brown, Lyndal Vee Rainwater, Reba Nell Agan (Ed); all of Villa Rica, Maxine Hicks, Atlanta, and one brother James Hicks, Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only child Brenda Jane Busbin Collins on September 20, 1997, two brothers George and Guy Hicks, three sisters Ila Mae Gunnell, Sallie Faye Huff and Lillie Bee Ingram. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. She enjoyed doing for others and was proud of her family. Tee was a member of Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Villa Rica and simply loved Villa Rica. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 4 oâ€™clock from the Fullerville Baptist Church in Villa Rica with the Rev. Chad Williams, Rev. Steve Swafford and Rev. Jimmy Reid officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Drew Williams and Mr. Kelly McCord The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 2 - 8. Internment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Park. Pallbearers are; Mark Ingram, Chris Agan, Perry Hicks, Roger Brown, Jody Millians, D.V. Huff and Terry Gunnell. J. Collins Funeral Home of Villa Rica in charge of arrangements.
